The Shelter Project.... It's all about the animals!
They're my favorite photographic subjects to work with.

If what you're after is a loyal companion, I encourage you to take a little time and check out the links below. They lead to the Facebook pages and websites of each Southeast Missouri shelter of rescue listed. Any of these organizations will have dozens of pets to offer for adoption, at any given time. The animals in these shelters are screened for health, behavior, adaptability and so much more. They are all pets worthy of becoming your newest family member. Below the shelter/rescue links is a scroller full of adoptables that these organization's have listed on PetFinder. Shop around a little and see if any one pet catches your eye.

I have been rescuing them, raising them, re-homing them, and loving them, for as long as I can remember. I have no preference between domestic or wild, mammal, reptile, or fowl; fur, scales or feathers; if it needs help, I'll always do what I can. I've been volunteering and working with rescues, shelters, and individuals for the betterment of animals for the past decade. And I network with some of the best people in the business, helping any way I can. I have photographed many shelter animals, and help others learn to do the same; creating images that are used on websites and social networking sites to help homeless animals find their furever homes. Thank you to all who volunteer their skills to the voiceless, homeless, and helpless pets. "It's not something I have ever been conscious of; it started when I was a kid. It's just there, my attraction to animals, and more so, their attraction to me." - Gila
