The Coulterville Republican.

That was the name of my hometown newspaper in 1958. I stumbled across it while rabbit-hole reading awhile back and found family members scattered through the pages over years.

This particular piece looked interesting.

The game featured many well known members of the community, listing their "past experience". I am assuming that meant where they had previously played ball.

My grandpa played with The Leans.

But the names that caught my attention right off the bat was my grandmother's along with her best pals, Mim Rice.

Somehow I just can't imagine my Nany as a cheerleader. And Faith Wisely, long time school secretary.

Nope.

Now I don't know if this game ever took place because the date of the event seems to give way to some kind of prank my grandparents, or any of their friends, might try to pull.

I'll have to get my mother's input on it and see.

Well, Mom, did the game get televised in color, right here in The Ville?
