Pet adoption. I'm into it for sure. I am eyeball deep in animal rescue and always trying to do something to raise awareness, increase adoptions, and make a difference in the animal world. I've done it privately, worked for shelters, and currently hold a board seat at the Caruthersville Humane Society.

My skills as a photographer come in handy from time to time.

It's been proven time and again that good photography can increase animal adoptions. People see those adorable faces and cannot resist at least stopping by the shelter for a look. Sometimes people end up adopting animals other than the ones they they originally came for, but it was that adorable photograph that got them there in the first place. It doesn't matter what animal they end up adopting, it's just great that any animal gets a loving home.

I took photos of the adoptable pets at Caruthersville Humane Society last month. I posted the photos on their Facebook page early one morning and the fans of their page almost instantly began to remark about the photos. By days end their page exploded with activity. The response was remarkable.

Words cannot explain how good it feels to know that something so small as sharing ones skills can save lives.

And the loving I get, while I am working with these adorable pets, is absolutely delicious.
