I contact people and let them know, "Hey, your proofs are in your gallery." You'd be surprised by how many people don't know what a proof is. I always tell them, "A proof is a snap shot and a portrait is for the wall. Pick your proofs and I will show you the portraits.
We are all so visual, so here are a couple of samples to illustrate my point.
Here is an "as is" in the gallery offered. The proof, if you will. It isn't a bad shot but I am distracted by the rafters of the arena and the loft and wall behind my subject.

Same deal here. Background is way too busy.
