We had a meeting last fall about how to address an issue we were having in our lake with a nasty invasive plant called brittle naiad; nasty stuff that requires management.
One of the solutions was to drain the lake. A lot of fisherman spoke up in disagreement. One resident noted that we had drained the lake over the winter in the past and it had refilled nicely by spring. Another resident disagreed and stated they had lived out here since such and such a date and they had never known the lake to be drained.
I knew we had drained the lake although I don't remember why we did. I am certain we did because they made a big deal about it being a great time for people to fix their docks and I lost a good pair of shoes in the mud at the beach. It was like quicksand.
I was recently able to recover a couple of pics from an old disc and found pics of the lake, drained. We must have started late 2009 because these images were taken sometime in February 2010.
